The Reason for the Season…
The Christmas season is taking its toll once again. Despite all the Christmas Frenzy, I hope we have not really forgotten what Christmas is all about.
On 28th December, a post Christmas presentation will be staged at The Palace Bahrain (formerly Palace Inn). Our chosen piece "Nosibasila" is a 1-hour musical comedy play depicting the Philippine’s heritage, culture and traditions thru groovy musical arrangements weaved in a satiric love story about the forgotten characters of Classic Philippine Literature. Combining the literary pillars of the different Philippine eras: Pre-colonial Spanish, Spanish rule, Post-colonial, American rule; We shall bring into life famous Filipino characters like Tuwaang, Bantugan, Lam-ang, Maria Clara, Urbana, Felisa and Juan Abad’s Tanikalang Guinto as they unveil the lessons of freedom, patriotism, social justice, and independence in a funny-heartfelt twist of events. Also featuring revivals of long forgotten 70’s hits/favorites which we want to pass on to the next generations: Ikaw ang Miss Universe, Dito ba?, Sayang, Manila/Manila, Magsimula Ka, Nais Ko, Katawan, Nosi ba lasi.
All funds raised through this production will be donated to causes supported by the OWWA. Buy a ticket now - your BD1 will make a lot of Filipinos happy this Christmas.

Charity show a huge draw
MANAMA
More than 1,000 people attended a Tagalog musical comedy last night at The Palace hotel’s Falcon Hall. The show, organised by Bahrain-based Phenomena Productions, hoped to raise BD2,000 that will be donated to the Philippine Embassy’s Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
Entitled Nosi Ba Sila (The Return of the Forgotten), the play was a one-hour musical comedy that celebrates Filipino heritage, culture and traditions using musical arrangements that weave in a satiric love story about the forgotten characters of classic Filipino literature. The event also featured a photo exhibition entitled Filipino Lifestyle in Bahrain that depicts a number of aspects associated with Filipinos in GCC countries.
