Thirteen’ to raise fund for the needy A MAJOR fundraising event is being organised by the Filipino American Association Bahrain to be held next week.
The event, entitled Thirteen, will be held on July 13 at BJ’s, Al Bustan Hotel, Adliya, from 4pm to 9pm. Bands, including popular Filipino band Advent Call, and DJs will be entertaining guests at the party.

Proceeds will go towards Gawad Kalinga, a Filipino charity which aims to build 700,000 homes for the needy people before 2010 in the Philippines.
Gawad Kalinga (GK) in English means "to give care".
GK’s vision for the Philippines is a slum-free, squatter-free nation through a simple strategy of providing land for the landless, homes for the homeless, food for the hungry and as a result providing dignity and peace for every Filipino.
The Ancop Gawad Kalinga Bahrain and the Philippines Embassy have raised thousands of dinars to help build about 50 homes in the Philippines.

30th December 2006 Abante’s Focus In The Middle East Manama, Bahrain. The Tau Gamma Phi and Tau Gamma Sigma of the Triskelion International Kingdom of Bahrain, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy and ANCOP-GK-Bahrain once again carried out a remarkable event for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga in the Philippines.
