TGS celebrates 38th founding anniversary
The Tau Gamma Sigma (TGS)- Bahrain Chapter marked its 38th founding anniversary with another noteworthy project formally brought to the open in the sorority’s celebration in Ras Ruhman recently.
Triskelion Force, the basketball team of Triskelion International-Bahrain, the founding chapter of which TGS is under, will be participating in a basketball tournament aimed to raise funds for an institution that caters for the needs of both Bahrain locals and expatriates.
The Triskelion Force will take part in the Regional Institute of Active Learning - Bahrain (RIA) basketball journey which is set to kick off in February.
Proceeds of the event will be donated for the procurement of a "service van" for the RIA centre. The committee, headed by Edith Fuentes, is planning for a gift giving project for the POLO-OWWA tenants on the succeeding week.
The Regional Institute of Active learning – Bahrain (RIA) is located at the centre of Adliya that caters for the needs of both nationals and expatriates, offering a year round English and Arabic curriculum, a unique educational opportunity for each specialized and regular students.
RIA is committed to create a family atmosphere wherein each person is equally treated, respected and made to feel being loved in - good points and shortcomings included. Outside school hours, RIA Centre runs informal "clubs"… which gives focuses on health, education and family issues.
Eveth Andalis, sorority president, led the anniversary gathering which was held at the residence of Brod Edgar Estidola and has brought TI-Bahrain, especially the Sigmas involvement with the project.
Tau Gamma Sigma is under the Triskelion International-Bahrain, an accredited Triskelion International chapter by the Philippine Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Tau Gamma Phi, the fraternity and forerunner of the organization joins TGS in its endeavor and lauded its sorority counterpart as the project marks another mileston in the Triskelion’s legacy of promoting goodwill and excellence towards global perspectives.
The Tau Gamma Sigma was founded by 11 illustrious coeds who were all political science students of the University of the Philippines on January 17, 1969. After 38 years of struggle for supremacy, the founding sisters already realized the fulfillment of their dreams… and a unified Triskelion fraternity and sorority reaches out to all mankind.
