The recent activity “Musik Pasiklaban”, an all Filipino Bands Charity Concert, on Dec. 16, 2009 held at Ramada Palace Hotel in Gudaibiya was a big hit which organized by Triskelion International - Kingdom of Bahrain Council and fully supported by the Philippine Embassy. The objective is to augment the remaining funds in completing the Gawad Kalinga’s “2nd Bahrain Village”, a housing project for the poor, located in Tarlac.

Five well known Filipino bands in Bahrain performed and brought to life the hours-before-empty stage. The Amatz , In Your Face , Love Child, First Element Bands were truly effective in making us want to take the moshpit and the Crazy Knot blew our minds to smithereens with their hilarious gimmicks.

The throng of humanity rocking with the bands was unbelievable. Laughter was everywhere as some of the band members amused the multitude by their antics. It is somewhat nostalgic as we sang along with the familiar Tagalog songs we used to play at home. For a moment, surrounded by this familiarity, one can almost forget that we’re in a foreign land.

Though this is a concert for Filipino Bands, it’s nice to see some other people (i.e. Arabs, Indians, etc…) supporting this noble cause. Surprisingly, they are the ones who sang with much gusto, banging their heads with the music. Rock on, guys.

Everybody assigned with their specific tasks did their work efficiently. Although it’s now on its fifth year, our pledge in reaching out to the less fortunate is unwavering. Instead, the fire of our commitment is burning continuously, offering warmth to the needy and the deprived.

Token of Appreciation are given to Amatz Band of Philippine School Bahrain, In Your Face Band of Havanas’ City Center Hotel, Love Child Band of Cyclones’ Aradous Hotel, 1st Element Band of Diggers’ Delmon Int’l. Hotel, Crazy Knot of Twisters’ Ramada Palace Hotel, our host; Mel Liamco, sponsors; Mobitel Telecommunication Inc., Flamingo Restaurant, Mr. Khair Moh’d Khan of Al Ameen Stationery, The Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park (http://www.alareenresort.com/waterpark_main.htm) & Mr. Benjamin Rongavilla.

With light steps and minds at rest with the success of the activity, brothers and sisters went forth for the victory party. Cheers, Triskelions!

Filipino Bands Charity Concert “Musik Pasiklaban”

In line with our commitment to reach out and serve the less fortunate, we would like to inform you that on December 16, 2009 the ΤΓΦ and TΓΣ of Triskelion International - Kingdom of Bahrain Council in cooperation with Ramada Palace Hotel which is fully supported by the Philippine Embassy will be organizing an all Filipino Bands Charity Concert entitled “Musik Pasiklaban” — an initiative for the benefit of ANCOP-Gawad Kalinga-Bahrain. This noble cause is already on its fifth year and is targeted to augment the remaining funds needed to complete the Gawad Kalinga’s “Bahrain Village” a home for the poor project in the Philippines.

ANCOP GK Bahrain had taken part in this undertaking by setting their initial project in General Santos City, Southern Mindanao. Approximately 40 to 50 homes would constitute one village and raising enough funds for such cause did not come easy. But the organization, through the donation of GK donors and partners in Bahrain, successfully delivered their social duties to the depressed community in General Santos City. The village within the GK Promise Land in Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City, South Cotabato was inaugurated on April 27, 2008. The village included 40 houses, a medical clinic and basketball court for the benefit of the new homeowners.

A concert for a cause uniting Bahrain based Filipino Bands will come together for a benefit show. Tickets priced at BD 1.500 are available at selected participating outlets and at the gate.

Happy 41st Founding Anniversary ΤΓΦ! Mid-Atlantic Regional Council’s Secretary General Shares his 41st Founding Anniversary Message to Triskelions of the Region

Brods,

Welcome to the Tau Gamma Phi Mid-Atlantic Regional Council’s 41st Founding Anniversary celebration.  Over the past few months, there has been great interest in revisiting the life and times of our brotherhood, the Tau Gamma Phi.  All the way, we have shown how it is to be part of our prestigious fraternity and how it changed our lives as individuals of our society. In certain number of aspects, we have depicted the trying times of being Triskelions. And at the end of the day, we have just shown how we reigned Supreme in our own time and in our own right.

Looking back to past significant months, a reunion or summer getaway in July of 2009 brought together more than 50 members and families of both regional councils of Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Hand in hand we have reached our 4th decade founding year and we have shown solidarity in our held convention the recent year. On the same respect, we’ve had a number of worth note-taking activities and services, starting with the collaborative service to migrant teachers with once our regarded opponent fraternity. We’ve been known through these efforts, and humbly, various regions look up to us. All these years we have lived by example and we have been guided by our principles and history. And together we, ourselves, were able to create HISTORY. Our history retold the successes and even misfortunes of our own.  Now, it is the time to recount what we have gained all these years. Just last year we celebrated our Ruby Anniversary. Hours from now, we’ll be going 41 - another year of primacy, all for the glory of our Tau Gamma Phi.

In addition to the 41st anniversary celebration we are having right now at Dandy’s dinner cruise, varied forms of celebrations are now taking place worldwide. These include golf tournament, picnic at parks and bar hopping at various clubs and establishments in Manila and other cities globally.  In Manila, our very own Amoranto Stadium and Rizal Coliseum serve as two equally relevant venues for our major grand fraternity celebration.  Also, some brothers are planning to meet the goal of initiating the bloodletting project, making Tau Gamma Phi on the record of being the bloodiest fraternity in the world with regards to blood donation to be carried out in a single day.

We have had contacts with more than 9 regional councils across America with estimated 500+ members of our Tau Gamma Phi during its 41st year in the history. Starting with this, we are still eagerly looking forward in establishing more of our brothers in terms of number and strength. I hope you enjoy yourself as you scroll through our many pages of rich history and relieve some of the wonderful memories of our years of decadence.  Keep in mind that we are always into establishing our network within our community in an effort to make our fraternity a service-oriented that is ready to serve at all times. Being Triskelions is a worthy lifetime experience, and I am more than proud to be called one.

To our brethren of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity, cheers for more glorious years ahead of us.  Happy 41st Founding Anniversary!

In the spirit of a Triskelion,

Dale Q. Aguirre, Secretary General

“Oplan 500”

TRISKELION
Dear Sirs:

We would like to seek your support for  “Oplan 500”, Phenomena Productions’ three-day campaign to raise funds for our brothers and sisters affected by Typhoon Ondoy . The campaign is asking every Filipino residing/working here in Bahrain to donate .500fils.

The amount is meager but if every Filipino will give their share – the amount raised can help save and rebuild lives back home.

The campaign starts on 28 September (Monday) until 30 September (Wednesday). Funds raised will be sent to Sagip Kapamilya on Thursday morning. Sagip Kapamilya is a project of the ABS-CBN Foundation which extends help to our fellow Filipinos distressed by disasters or calamities. Phenomena Productions has already expressed its intent of raising funds through its Middle East Head Correspondent, Mr. Dindo Amparo. For further information on Sagip Kapamilya, you may also log on to www.sagipkapamilya.com.

Friends, we understand that each one of us has his/her financial worries and some of you may not share our sentiments on this campaign. But have you tried putting yourself in their shoes? What if you were there and they were here? We are only asking for .500fils – perhaps, at least for a day, you can give up a McDonalds meal or a pack of cigarettes or a cup of Starbucks coffee. This small amount may be negligible to you but it means a lot to our Kababayan back home.

Phenomena Productions is a small organization and as much as we want to help everyone back home, we know that we cannot do it alone. And so we thought that maybe you can support us once again as you have always helped us in our previous projects.

Should you wish to be one with our cause, you may contact any of our members for your donations.

We put our faith in you and the hope that you will be one with us.

Sincerely

Phenomena Productions | Leslie 36311563 | Noril 39543239 | Josefa 36612937 | Cindy 36080506 | Daisy 39441960 | Cristina 36538344
